Meet Jo, Intuitive Multidisciplinary Artist
Jordan is an intuitive abstract multidisciplinary artist from the Pineywoods of East Texas, where her work is deeply inspired by the natural world and the duality of Taoist philosophy. Growing up in the small, rural town of Ore City, she developed a profound appreciation for the power of rural communities and its role in shaping lives.
Her creative process is guided by intuition, transforming personal emotions into visual stories that explore themes of balance, flow, and authenticity. Jordan’s art reflects her love of Taoism through its embrace of duality—light and shadow, chaos and harmony—and draws heavily on elements of nature and the Cosmos.
In her studio, she experiments with collage, mindful sketching, and color theory to evoke mood and meaning in her work which utilizes a variety of techniques and mediums. More of her most recent work has been completed in acrylics, gouache, and pencil. Outside the studio, Jordan teaches middle school art, nurturing creativity and identity exploration in the young minds of her hometown.
As a regular at the Longview Art Walk, Jordan showcases her original pieces and shares her process with the East Texas community. Through her art, she hopes to inspire deeper connections with nature, self-expression, and the beauty of balance.
